There is a template in place for noting the license type for your work, and the general “type” category of your project (distortion, utility, modulation, etc.).

These licenss options are available in the template:

AGPL (GNU Affero General Public License v3.0)
A strong copyleft license requiring that source code (including networked applications) be made available to users interacting with the software.

Apache-2.0 (Apache License 2.0)
A permissive license allowing use, modification, and distribution with explicit patent rights and minimal requirements for attribution and notices.

BSD (BSD 2-Clause / 3-Clause Licenses)
A family of permissive licenses allowing redistribution and modification with minimal restrictions, primarily requiring attribution.

CC0 (Public Domain Dedication)
A waiver that places a work as close as possible into the public domain, allowing unrestricted use without attribution.

CC BY (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0)
Allows others to distribute, remix, and build upon the work, even commercially, as long as proper credit is given.

CC BY-SA (Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0)
Allows reuse and modification with attribution, requiring derivative works to be licensed under the same terms.

Custom
A user-defined license where the author specifies their own terms and conditions for use, distribution, and modification, or specifies a license not available in the template (please provide a link).

GPL (GNU General Public License v3.0)
A strong copyleft license requiring that derivative works be distributed under the same license and include source code.

MIT License
A highly permissive license allowing reuse, modification, and distribution with only attribution and license inclusion required.

Proprietary License
A restrictive license where the author retains full control over use, modification, and distribution, with terms explicitly defined by the author.
